We have a limited capacity of appointments so it is important that if you are able to make an appointment but if you can not attend, you need to let us know as someone else may need that slot and you may not be able to book another one.

These appointments can not be prebooked and are just for emergencies.

  • Appointments are made by visiting or telephoning the surgery from 8.00AM on 020 8539 2858.
  • Appointments can also be booked online, simply see one of our receptionists for a copy of our online registration form or download a copy from here
  • Appointments will be 10 minutes long, but if you feel you may need longer please let us know
  • Urgent telephone consultations are available at the end of the doctor or nurse clinic at the clinician's discretion
  • Emergencies and babies will be seen on the same day at the clinician's discretion
  • If clinics are fully booked on the day, you will be advised by the reception to ring up the practice later that day to find out if there are any cancellations
  • Urgent cases will always be seen on the same day, otherwise you will be offered the first available slot with a doctor/triage staff within 48 hours, if a slot is unavailable. However this maybe affected by unforeseen circumstances such as sickness and holiday leave

Our nurses and doctors work in well equipped office, minor surgery and recovery rooms, and you can make appointments to see one onf them for health checks, travel vaccincations, child immunisations, ear syringing and ECGs.

Nurses will also provide advice general health, travel advice, dieting, diabetic control and family planning.

You may also see a nurse for routine blood pressure checks.

During practice hours, please telephone the practice and your message will be relayed to the doctor by the receptionist doctor will ring you back at their earlest conveniance.

If you have been referred to a hopsital or clinic, you are able to book the appointment online.
  • You can book your own appointment, on a date and at a time that is conveniant for you, you can also choose the hopsital or clinic that you want to go to.
  • Once you have booked your appointment, you can check your details, change your appointment or cancel it if, it is no longer needed.
  • The service is fast conveniant and secure

Booking your own referral appointment online helps save your us time and also saves the NHS money. When patients book their own appointment, hospitals have said that there are half as many missed appointments, booking online also saves the NHS on phone bills and sending letter out to you. We know that the service is not for everyone, therefore you will be able to ask your GP if you need any help.

People living in Waltham Forest are now able to make an appointment to see a GP in the evening and at weekends. Waltham Forest residents are now able to access more evening and weekend appointments with a GP and nurse at four primary care ‘hubs’ in the borough. These appointments are funded by Waltham Forest CCG and are delivered by Waltham Forest GP Federation.

The hubs are located in the following 4 practices and appointments are available for anyone who is registered with any GP practice in Waltham Forest;

  • Triangle House Health Centre, 2-8 Harrow Road, Leytonstone, London, E11 3QF
  • Higham Hill Medical Centre, 258-260 Higham Hill Road, Walthamstow, London, E17 5RQ
  • Handsworth Medical Centre, 5 Handsworth Avenue, Chingford, London, E4 9PD
  • Allum Medical Centre, Fairlop Road, Leytonstone, London, E11 1BN

To support more people who need to be seen urgently by a local doctor, same day appointments in the hubs are available every weekday evening between 6.30PM – 9.30PM, and 8.00AM – 8.00PM on weekends.

You do not require a doctor's sickness certificate for any illness lasting seven days or less. Your employer may however require you to complete a self-certification form (SC2) which is available from your employer or on the HMRC website.

If you are sick for more than seven days, your employer can ask you to give them some form of medical evidence to support payment of SSP (statutory sick pay).

Your employer can ask you to confirm that you've been ill.You can do this by filling in a form yourself when you return to work. This is called self-certification, or you can download and print off a copy of the Self-Certification certificate yourself from here..

If you're sick and off work for more than seven days, your employer will probably ask for proof of your illness. Most employers ask for a fit note from your GP.

However, this will also depend on your employer's company policy on sick leave (or sickness absence). This policy should tell you how many days you can be off sick before you need to provide proof of illness or a fit note.

You could also provide evidence from someone who is not a medical practitioner, e.g. a dentist. Your employer will decide whether or not this evidence is acceptable. If your employer has any doubts, they may still ask for a medical certificate from your GP.

The 'fit note' was introduced on 6 April 2010. With your employer's support, the note will help you return to work sooner by providing more information about the effects of your illness or injury.

If possible, please try to ring the practice before 11:30AM if you require a home visit.

You may only request a home visit if;

  • You are a housebound patient
  • Or are too ill to visit the practice (if this is case, please provide as much information as you can so we can give this to the doctor)

Your Doctor will only visit you at home, if they think that your medical condition requires it and will also decide on how urgent the visit is needed.

Please be aware that that it is not possible to specify which doctor will attend any emergency home visit as they are the delegated doctor on-call at the time.

Please think before you call. please help the doctors and other patients by being considerate. If you are wating for a call from one our doctors, please keep your line free as the doctor will try calling no more than twice. If the doctor can not get through to you at the time in which the call is made, a note will be put on your personal patient file to record that the doctor tried to call you.

GP online services allow you to access a range of services via your computer or mobile. Once you have signed up, you will be able to;

  • Book or cancel appointments online with a GP or nurse
  • Renew or order repeat prescriptions online
  • View parts of your GP health record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results

The service is free. Everyone who is registered with a GP can have access to their practice's online services.

  1. Tell your GP practice that you would like to start using their online services
  2. A member of the practice will then ask you to fill in a short registration form, you can download a copy of the registration from here

  4. You will have to confirm your identity or you may have to answer questions about personal information in your GP record 
  5. Once you have signed up, you will receive a letter with your unique username and password and a link to where you can log in
